September 3, 2022 - Cosner scores Labor Day 55 at Bedford, earns $12,055

The victory marked the third of the 2022 campaign in his Global Truck Outfitters No. 66c Nelson Auto Sales/ R.H. Lapp Mechanical Contractors/ Rocket Chassis/ Cornett Racing Engine Super Late Model.

"I wasn't gonna back out of it there for nothing," Cosner said in regards to his late-race heroics on Friday night at Bedford Speedway. "I was going for it. The wins are hard to get. These guys are tough. I bided my time there, just kind of rolling. … It just played out our way.

“We’ve got some great folks, who support this program, and this win is for them. It made it even sweeter to have my teammate, Eddie Carrier Jr. finish fourth. Just an all-around great night for our team.”

Matt Cosner kicked off his Labor Day weekend with the Zimmer’s United Late Model Series (ULMS) on Friday evening with a visit to Bedford Speedway (Bedford, Pa.) for the Labor Day 55.

With 32 Late Models on grounds, Matt followed up the second-fastest time in his group with a heat race triumph. Earning the sixth-starting position for the A-Main, Cosner slowly worked way to the front as he closed in on Rick Eckert and Gregg Satterlee as the duo battled for the lead in later stages of the 55-lapper.

With contact from the two front-runners setting up a late-race restart, Matt powered ahead of Eckert at the start and led the final two circuits to secure his third win of the season and second career ULMS checkers.

He captured a $12,055 prize ahead of Ross Robinson, Alex Ferree, his teammate Eddie Carrier Jr. who started in 18th, and Michael Norris fifth.

On Saturday evening at Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pa.) for the Butch Renninger Memorial, Cosner’s second-place finish in his heat race placed him on the fourth row for the $7,333-to-win A-Main. Retiring on lap 23, Matt was credited with a 22nd-place outing.

August 27, 2022 - 13th-place finish in Rumble by the River prelim at Port Royal Speedway

Drawing 51 cars for the two-day event, Cosner edged his way into his $5,000-to-win preliminary feature with the fifth-and-final transfer spot in his heat. Carrying a steady pace in the 25-lapper, Matt recorded a 13th-place outing. Carrier Jr. followed up a third-place finish in his heat with a 12th-place finish in his prelim.

On Saturday, both pilots missed a transfer spot in their heat race, relegating them into a B-Main for another shot at the $50,000-to-win Rumble by the River finale. Needing to place second or better, Matt recorded a seventh-place outing while Eddie missed a transfer spot by one car with a third-place finish.

August 19, 2022 - Matt Cosner finishes 12th with World of Outlaws at Williams Grove
1On Friday afternoon, Matt Cosner was joined by Eddie Carrier Jr. at Williams Grove Speedway (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) for the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series sanctioned program.

With 30 Late Models entered, Cosner secured his spot into the $10,000-to-win A-Main with a sixth-to-third run in his heat while Carrier Jr. finished fifth. While Matt faded outside the Top-10 to finish 12th in the feature, Eddie charged through the field six spots in the 40-lapper to place sixth.

August 13, 2022 - Pair of fourth-place finishes with ULMS at Path Valley and Hagerstown

With a third-place finish in his heat race placing him seventh on the starting grid for the feature, Matt inched forward three spots in the 30-lap affair to register a fourth-place finish. He followed Rick Eckert, Gregg Satterlee, and Jason Covert to the checkers with Jared Miley coming in fifth.

On Saturday evening at Hagerstown Speedway (Hagerstown, Md.) for the Nathan Durboraw Memorial, Cosner followed up a heat race win with a dash victory. Starting on the pole for the $5,100-to-win A-Main, Matt faded three positions in the 40-lapper to finish fourth.

Eddie Carrier Jr. piloted a secondary car but was an early exit from his heat and a scratch from the feature.

July 30, 2022 - Cosner banks $4,000 Gary Martz Memorial at Bedford
1Friday night found Matt Cosner in action at Bedford Speedway (Bedford, Pa.) piloting his Global Truck Outfitters No. 66c Late Model for the Gary Martz Memorial.

Starting on the pole for the feature via a third-place performance in his heat, Cosner won by more than a four-second margin to capture his second win of the season and a $4,000 prize. He took the checkers ahead of Jeff Rine, Kyle Hardy, Kyle Lee, and Bryan Bernheisel.

For the Living Legends Dream Race on Saturday at Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pa.), Matt secured his spot into the $5,000-to-win A-Main with a heat race victory. Coming two spots shy of a Top-5 finish in the feature, Cosner raced to a seventh-place finish in the 30-lapper.

Back in action on Monday, Cosner trekked to Beckley Motor Speedway (Beckley, W.Va.) with Eddie Carrier Jr. joining him in his secondary ride for the USA 100. Drawing 36 XR Southern All Star Series entries, Eddie secured his spot into the main event with a heat race win while Matt was forced to take a provisional. With $20,000 on the line, Carrier Jr. posted a seventh-place finish in the 100-lapper while Cosner retired on lap 16.

June 18, 2022 - Runner-up finish with ULMS at Selinsgrove Speedway
1 Matt Cosner visited Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex (Markleysburg, Pa.) on Friday afternoon with Eddie Carrier Jr. joining him in his secondary ride for the Zimmer’s United Late Model Series-sanctioned Ernie Jones Memorial.

After topping the 14-car field in time trials, Cosner dropped five spots in the feature to finish second. Eddie jumped up two positions from the fifth-starting spot to place third.

For the Late Model Open on Saturday at Selinsgrove Speedway (Selinsgrove, Pa.), Matt secured his spot into the $5,000-to-win A-Main with a second-place finish in his heat. Inching forward one spot in the 30-lap affair, Cosner notched a runner-up finish. He followed Gregg Satterlee to the checkers with Andy Haus rounding out the podium.

May 21, 2022 - Sixth-place finish with World of Outlaws at Port Royal
1Thursday night saw Matt Cosner return to action with a visit Bloomsburg Fair Raceway (Bloomsburg, Pa.) to compete with the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series.

In a field of 32 Late Models, Cosner jumped up one spot in his heat race to finish sixth, sending him into the B-Main. Needing a third-place finish or better to make the opening night feature, Matt came one spot short with a fourth-place finish.

For the Connor Bobik Memorial on Friday at Marion Center Raceway (Marion Center, Pa.), Matt’s seventh-place finish in his heat race relegated him into the B-Main. Sending the top-three into the $10,000-to-win A-Main, Cosner logged a 12th-place outing.

His maiden trip to Victory Lane in 2022 came at Pennsylvania’s Bedford Speedway during the historic oval’s 86th Anniversary Opening Day.

“It feels great to get the first win of the season. We had up-and-down results at Speedweeks to start the year, but since then we’ve been in the Top 10 every night and now we have our first win of the year,” Cosner said. “We always enjoy coming to Bedford, and it’s especially fun to come back and win here. Thank you to everyone who supports this program and keeps us going in circles each week.”

Matt Cosner entered his LINE-X® No. 66c Late Model into battle on Friday evening at Bedford Speedway (Bedford, Pa.) for the track’s season opener. In a field of 20 Super Late Models, Cosner secured his spot into the A-Main with a third-place finish in his heat.

Tracking down polesitter and race-long leader Jeff Rine late in the race, Matt overtook Rine amid lapped-traffic on lap 21 and led the remaining distance of the 25-lapper to capture his first win of the season and 12th career triumph at the Pennsylvania oval.

He finished ahead of Rine, Drake Troutman, Andy Haus, and Travis Stickley.

Saturday's Zimmer's United Late Model Series (ULMS) scheduled event at Selinsgrove Speedway (Selinsgrove, Pa.) fell victim to Mother Nature.

April 10, 2022 - Pair of Top-10 finishes with Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series
1On Saturday, Matt Cosner returned to the driver’s seat of his Nelson Auto Sales No. 66c Late Model at Hagerstown Speedway (Hagerstown, Md.) for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series-sanctioned Conococheague 50. Drawing 34 cars, Matt followed up the seventh-fastest time in his group with a third-place finish in his heat. With $15,000 on the line in the feature, Cosner clawed forward one spot in the talent-laden field to finish eighth.

The following night at Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pa.) for the River Valley 40, Cosner edged his way into the $10,000-to-win A-Main with the fourth-and-final transfer spot in his heat. After Mother Nature axed Tuesday’s portion of the Wrisco Winternationals, Matt recorded a ninth-place finish in his heat race on Wednesday. Slated to start near the tail of his B-Main, Cosner was a scratch from the 10-lapper.

For another $7,000-to-win A-Main on Thursday, Cosner recorded a seventh-place finish in his heat race, sending him into the B-Main. Transferring the Top 2 into the show, Matt passed three cars but fell short of a transfer position.

The following night, Matt’s sixth-place finish in his heat race relegated him into the B-Main. Starting in fifth, Cosner dropped three spots in the 10-lap affair to finish eighth.

For the Wrisco Winternationals finale on Saturday, Cosner came in 10th in his heat, giving him one final shot at the $15,000-to-win A-Main with a B-Main appearance. Needing to place second or better, Matt logged an 11th-place outing.

February 5, 2022 - Cosner follows LOLMDS to Bubba Raceway Park and All-Tech

January 29, 2022 - Matt Cosner begins 2022 season at Golden Isles Speedway

“We would’ve obviously loved to end the year with a win, but we really had a great weekend and to come away with a third-place finish, we’ll take it,” Cosner said. “It was also really cool to have Eddie Carrier Jr. in a team car as well as Kurt, Brent, Paul, Eddie, and Noah from Rocket Chassis there helping us at the track. It was a fun final race of the season, and now we’re already preparing for next year.”

1Matt Cosner visited Bedford Speedway (Bedford, Pa.) on Friday afternoon to enter his R.H. Lapp Mechanical Contractors No. 66c Late Model into battle in the opening round of the fourth annual Keystone Cup.

Drawing 43 Late Models for a pair of preliminary features leading up to Saturday’s finale, Cosner clocked in ninth-fastest in his group before placing sixth in his prelim.

Rolling off 12th on the grid for Saturday night’s $25,000-to-win Keystone Cup, Matt advanced forward nine spots in the 60-lap affair to register a third-place finish. He trailed Max Blair and Jeff Rine to the checkers with Gregg Satterlee and Kyle Lee rounding out the Top-5 finishers.

Matt Cosner Racing also fielded a secondary entry for Eddie Carrier Jr., which saw the veteran racer place 17th in his preliminary feature on Friday before missing a transfer spot by one position in his B-Main on Saturday.
