Matt Cosner entered his final event of the year over the weekend in Bedford Speedway’s Keystone Cup. “We would’ve obviously loved to end the year with a win, but we really had a great weekend and to come away with a third-place finish, we’ll take it,” Cosner said. “It was also really cool to have Eddie Carrier Jr. in a team car as well as Kurt, Brent, Paul, Eddie, and Noah from Rocket Chassis there helping us at the track. It was a fun final race of the season, and now we’re already preparing for next year.”
Matt Cosner visited Bedford Speedway (Bedford, Pa.) on Friday afternoon to enter his R.H. Lapp Mechanical Contractors No. 66c Late Model into battle in the opening round of the fourth annual Keystone Cup.
Drawing 43 Late Models for a pair of preliminary features leading up to Saturday’s finale, Cosner clocked in ninth-fastest in his group before placing sixth in his prelim.
Rolling off 12th on the grid for Saturday night’s $25,000-to-win Keystone Cup, Matt advanced forward nine spots in the 60-lap affair to register a third-place finish. He trailed Max Blair and Jeff Rine to the checkers with Gregg Satterlee and Kyle Lee rounding out the Top-5 finishers.
Matt Cosner Racing also fielded a secondary entry for Eddie Carrier Jr., which saw the veteran racer place 17th in his preliminary feature on Friday before missing a transfer spot by one position in his B-Main on Saturday.

Competing in the rain-shortened 41st annual General Tire Dirt Track World Championship, Matt Cosner traveled to Portsmouth Raceway Park (Portsmouth, Ohio) on Saturday afternoon to compete in a stout field of 60 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries. Needing a second-place finish or better in his B-Main to make the $100,000-to-win Dirt Track World Championship, Matt logged an eighth-place outing.

October 10, 2021 - Cosner follows LOLMDS to Peach State for doubleheader at Dixie and Rome |
After Mother Nature nixed the second attempt of the Mountain Moonshine Classic on Friday at Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tenn.), Matt Cosner returned with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) on Saturday at Dixie Speedway (Woodstock, Ga.) for the Dixie Shootout. In a field of 39 cars, Cosner’s sixth-place finish in his heat race relegated him into the B-Main. Scoring the third-and-final transfer spot, Matt locked into the 21st-starting position for the $15,000-to-win A-Main. On Sunday at Rome Speedway (Rome, Ga.) for the Rome Showdown, Matt came in seventh in his heat race before retiring early from the 40-lap feature on lap 16.

October 2, 2021 - 12th-place finish in Great Lakes 50 at Raceway 7 |
Matt Cosner followed the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) to Raceway 7 (Conneaut, Ohio) on Friday afternoon for the Great Lakes 50. Drawing 27 cars, Cosner jumped up two spots in his heat race to place fifth. The following night at Pittsburgh Pa. Motor Speedway (Imperial, Pa.) for the 32nd annual Pittsburgher 100, Matt came in seventh in his heat race before placing fifth in his B-Main. Earning a provisional into the $20,000-to-win A-Main, Cosner pulled off on the 33rd circuit.
