Matt Cosner was one of 44 DIRTcar Late Models on hand at Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Florida) on Monday afternoon to kick off the 49th annual DIRTcar Nationals. Following the tenth fastest lap in his time trial group, Cosner posted a 10th place outing in his heat race, sending him into the B-Main. Transferring the Top 5 into the opening night feature, Matt logged a 11th place outing.
On Tuesday evening, Matt came in fourth fastest in his group before placing 6th in his heat race. Needing a 2nd place finish or better in his B-Main to make the $7,000-to-win A-Main, Cosner recorded a 9th place finish.
For the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series sanctioned program on Wednesday, Cosner followed up a 7th place finish in his heat with a 7th place finish in his B-Main. Relying on a provisional into the A-Main, Matt improved five spots to register a 22nd place outing.
The following night for another $10,000-to-win A-Main, Matt recorded a 6th place finish in his heat, giving him another shot at the feature with a B-Main appearance. Failing to place 2nd or better, Cosner was granted a provisional into the show. Jumping up two spots in the 40-lap affair, Matt Cosner recorded a 26th place finish.
For the fifth round of the 49th annual DIRTcar Nationals on Friday, Cosner placed 5th in his heat before grabbing the 3rd and final transfer spot in his B-Main. With $10,000 on the line in the feature, Matt passed eight cars in the 40-lapper to place 13th. (Rick Neff photo)
On Saturday afternoon to wrap up the 49th annual DIRTcar Nationals, Matt followed up an 11th place finish in his heat with a 12th place outing in his B-Main. Earning a provisional into the $10,000-to-win finale, Cosner improved five spots to record a 21st place outing.

February 8, 2020 - Georgia-Florida Speedweeks Bring Cosner to Golden Isles |
On Monday evening Matt Cosner returned to action at East Bay Raceway Park (Gibsonton, Florida) for the 44th annual Wrisco Winternationals. Drawing a stout field of 62 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries for the six-day event, Matt fell one spot short of a transfer position in his heat with a 4th place finish. Needing to place 2nd or better in his B-Main to make the opening night feature, Cosner slipped back to a 16th place outing.
The following night for another $5,000-to-win A-Main, Cosner came in 8th in his heat race, transferring him into the B-Main. Sending only the race winner, Matt logged a 5th place finish, giving him one final shot at the feature with the Berry Barn Strawberry Dash. For the third round of the Wrisco Winternationals on Wednesday afternoon, Matt rebounded to place 8th in his heat after failing to record a time in qualifying. Transferring into the B-Main for another shot at the $7,000-to-win A-Main, Cosner fell short of a transfer spot with a 7th place outing.
On Thursday evening, Cosner fell one spot short of a transfer position in his heat with a 4th place finish. Coming in 2nd in his B-Main behind Chase Junghans, Matt locked into the 24th-starting position for the feature. With $7,000 on the line, Matt Cosner jumped up four spots to place 20th.
After coming in 7th in his heat on Friday night, Matt posted a 4th place finish in his B-Main, sending him into the Berry Barn Strawberry Dash for one final shot at the $12,000-to-win A-Main. Needing to place in the Top 2, Cosner fell short with an 11th place outing.
Wrapping up the 44th annual Wrisco Winternationals on Saturday, Cosner recorded a 4th place finish in his heat, giving him one final chance at the $12,000-to-win A-Main with a B-Main appearance. Streaking to a 12-lap consolation victory, Matt earned the 20th-starting position for the feature. Losing four spots in the 50-lap affair, Matt Cosner registered a 24th place outing.

After Mother Nature washed out Friday night’s opener, Matt Cosner was one of 45 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series entries signed in at Golden Isles Speedway (Brunswick, Georgia) on Saturday evening for the RhinoAg Super Bowl of Racing. Coming one spot shy of a transfer position in his heat with a 5th place finish, Cosner transferred into the B-Main for another shot at the $12,000-to-win A-Main. Needing a 3rd place finish or better to make the show, Matt was battling for a transfer spot late when he got spun around on the inside berm in turn-three. He slipped back to an 8th place outing.
